Dr. Brit Voshage has lived in the Winona com munity for over 27 years . Her work experience is in health and human services, and nursing . She previously worked for an agency providing services to adults and children with developmental disabilities for just over 10 years before beginning her nursing career. She has worked as a nurse in emergency rooms in both Wisconsin and Iowa. Dr. Voshage has a master's degree in nursing education and a Doctorate degree in Practice and Leadership Innovation. Currently, Dr. Voshage works as a professor at Winona State in the Department of Undergraduate Nursing and has been there since 2018. She has three children with her husband Josh: Bricelyn (14), Lily (12), and (Max) 10.
Her passion for advocacy and work to improve understanding of the experiences of neurodivergent individuals in education and the world is rooted from a childhood of seeing her neurodivergent brother struggle with ADHD in a one size fits all educational system . This passion has grown after having all 3 of her children experience diagnoses of neurodivergent conditions.
